I have also linked key curriculum web sites for your convenience. You can see more information about a specific curriculum on the main DES website under the "Parent Information" tab.

We primarily use Wonders and Zearn for Reading and Math, respectively. We also use IXL, Mystery Writing, and other resources to supplement and enrich your students learning experience!

About Me

My name is Payten Walker and I am one of the 4th grade teachers at DES.

My husband and I moved from North Carolina to Alaska to pursue careers in teaching (my husband works at Delta High school). We have three sweet cats and one energetic, little dog.

In my time away from school, I love to read, watch movies, play games (video and board), embroider, do puzzles, and spend time with my husband and pets.

The 2024-25 school year was my first year as a classroom teacher! I previously worked with special needs students and as a substitute for 3 years as I worked to complete my education. I initially pursed a degree in social work at Appalachian State University until COVID struck and I transferred to Western Governors University to earn a degree in Elementary Education.
