Fourth Grade Teacher
This is my 22nd year teaching at Delta Elementary. My family has lived in Delta since 1973. I am a product of Delta-Greely School District schools. When I graduated from high school, I attended the University of Washington and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries Science. I worked for just over four years in remote salmon hatcheries in Prince William Sound. After leaving the field of fisheries, I decided to return to college and get an Elementary Teacher’s Certificate. I completed the program at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks in August of 1997. My first teaching job was in Newtok, a Yup’ik Eskimo village on the Bering Sea. I taught four years there, one year in Unalaska, one year in Chefornak (another village), and then came home to Delta. My wife, Alice and I have three children: Dana ( 32 years old), Gloria (22), and Justin (20) as well as four grandsons and soon (in June), a brand-new granddaughter.
