Welcome to kindergarten at DES!

My name is Allison Smith and I am one of the kindergarten teachers at DES. I have been teaching kindergarten here for 12 years and I love my job. My husband (also a teacher in the district) and I moved to Delta Junction from Oregon in 2013; where we were both born and raised. We have two active and busy children Weston (8) and Brody (5).

I graduated from Eastern Oregon University in 2012 with a Bachelors of Science in Multidisciplinary Studies and Elementary Education. I also earned an ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) endorsement. After graduation, I worked for EOU for a year as a Graduate Assistant in the Education Department while I worked on my Masters Degree.

In my spare time I enjoy being a hockey mom, baking, gardening, camping, boating, reading, and spending time with my family and friends.

Our Days:

In kindergarten we work on many academic subjects including reading/language arts, writing, math, science, social studies, music, art, technology, and many more! In addition to the academics that we cover, we also work on developing social and life skills that will better prepare us for school and for life.
